Some milestones

Will and Anna had a big week last week--a big Wednesday, to be exact.

Anna almost graduated from swim classes last week.  She successfully floated in her (heavy) clothes for quite awhile.

She can swim well and float well, but she still resists going from a swim into a float when she needs a breath, so she's doing a few more lessons this week to cement that skill.

I have one more video from last week, and I kept waffling on whether to post it, but here it is.  If you are at all squeamish about graphic descriptions of bodily functions, just ignore this next part.  We've been working with Will this summer on doing big kid stuff--riding without training wheels, tying his shoes, etc., and at dinner last week I mentioned that we should probably teach him how to wipe after toileting (yes, we still wipe for him after #2, mostly because I don't trust him to do a thorough job).  I told Will that I thought his kindergarten teacher would probably expect him to do that job himself, but Will responded that he doesn't go poop at school.

I asked him if he was scared to poop in the potty at school, and he went into an elaborate explanation of why he doesn't do it.  It cracked me up and is pretty typical of the serious way he approaches everything right now, so of course I had to grab the camera:

John thought maybe he pooped in a urinal, but I don't think they have those in the classroom.  I think Will just felt that the kid-sized potty is not sufficient to handle the amount of poop he can produce--he's probably right!

(PS...how many years to do you think it will be before he finds this video a little embarrassing??)
