Hi y'all! Anna here, taking over the blog --Mama's relaxing after unpacking zillions of boxes, but the new place is starting to look like home. I adapted to my new room very well (everything looks the same when you're only 2 feet tall and stuck in a crib at night), and Will looves his new digs, too. He slept the entire night in his own bed for the first time in several weeks, so the parentals are happy about that.

Did I mention how happy I am that I'm too little to help out with all this moving?

The new house is a lot roomier--Mama is excited about the kitchen (island and double ovens!). I see lots of baked goods in our future. She was not so excited about some of the treasures the previous owners left in our drawers and cabinets:
  • Partially used eyeliner
  • Slivers of soap
  • Can opener (missing the power cord and crusted with old food)
  • Pet hair
  • Large tin cooking pots (Mama was initially excited about these, until she saw how rusted and yucky they were on the inside)

I'm sure those other people thought we would put this stuff to good use, but Mama didn't think so and spent half the day pouring 409 and bleach spray all over the house and muttering something about people not being good citizens.

Will and Daddy tried out the new playground last night and think it's a good substitute for the old one. We haven't tried the new pool, but that's on the agenda today or tomorrow.

That's all the news I have for now--y'all have a good weekend!

Love,

Anna

Moving on Up

Will is a surprisingly big help in packing, considering he's only 3 years old:

Much more help than when we moved from G-ville to Winston-Salem:
(I don't recall why he was naked in these pics...did we pack all of his clothes? I'm pretty sure he wore something on the drive up to NC.)

I fully expect to be taking him to the ER later today for a tape-gun related injury...it's hard to keep him away from the fun new "toy."

Whew!!

Alrighty, I'm finally digging out from under a mound of photos from the past month--thanks to some subtle hints from Missy and Nana. I'll start with the oldest and add our newer ones in the next post.

These pictures are from our fun week at the beach with the McClellan family (as usual, I borrowed a few of Nana's photos for our album). Will and I had a big time--we only wished John had been able to join us, instead of finishing up work in NC. We started the week by celebrating Grandmama's 90th birthday, and then attended Hannah and Adam's wedding. After that, we headed to the beach! Will enjoyed playing in the sand and swimming with Nana and Papa, and bossing Missy and Laurie around (I don't think he'll ever find anyone who will draw him as many pictures in the sand as Missy did!). He also had a great time playing with his cousin Finn (I was loading the pictures onto Shutterfly today, and he wanted to see the the pictures of him and Finn over and over again--"more Finn! More Finn!").

We had a fairly uneventful move to Ormond Beach--except for the small problem of a water leak in our rental home. However, the rental agency put us up in a very nice house on the intercoastal, which John and I enjoyed thoroughly. We decided we could easily become accustomed to waterfront living--I guess we better start buying lotto tickets! Don, Yomary, Don-Don, and Alexiya visited us in our swank digs on their way back to Jacksonville, and I included some pictures that Don-Don took with our camera (he did really good--I think he's less shaky with the camera than I am!).

More photos of Will's first few weeks in OB are on their way....

Good-bye NC, Hello (again) FL

This is our last post from North Carolina, since Will and I will be leaving bright and early for B-town (and then the beach!). Hopefully we will survive 10 hours in the car together.

We're mostly packed, and spent the week saying bye to friends. I didn't do a good job of taking pictures--these two are of Will and his teacher, Miss Dee, and some of my coworkers at lunch on my last day (only half the group--lots of camera-shy people in the pediatric clinic!). We will miss everyone!
