Doing our duty to God and country

I had a bunch of top-secret errands to run today.  Suffice it to say, there are two more live creatures in our house than there were this morning, and I'm praying they stay alive for another 9 days.  So stressful!

We had a cub scout den meeting tonight.  The boys got their Pinewood Derby kits and Anna sulked for half an hour because she didn't get one.  I don't think she realizes that she's not actually a scout.  Anyway, they have a family derby day the day before the real race (our den leader says that's so the dads can exercise their competitive streaks), so I think we'll have to figure out a way to build her a car so she can participate in that race.  Maybe we can put Papa on that one? :-)

I didn't take pictures tonight, but have some from back in October, when we all went to the district shoot-out.

Will and John shooting BB guns:

Anna and I took a turn, too.  We were pretty pathetic at hitting the target, but we didn't shoot anyone else, so we were satisfied with that.  Our target looked like swiss cheese because the Boy Scout (big kid) next to us used it too, and he was a fantastic shot.

Will and Anna with their targets:

He also tried a little archery, but thought the BB gun was more fun:

The following weekend we volunteered at the popcorn booth at Destination Daytona:

We only sold 3 boxes, but Will and I decided that was worth a celebratory lunch at Houligan's.  Nothing more fun than chicken wings with my cute cub scout:
