Happy Birthday to Anna!

I can't believe it's been 2 years since Anna arrived.  I remember exactly what I was doing this night 2 years ago: hanging out in the hospital with the most beautiful baby girl ever (and Aunt Missy, who moved the most beautiful baby girl between me and the bassinet every 2 hours for feedings, since I was stuck in bed post-C-section--that's a devoted aunt!).

We celebrated with a birthday brunch today with Nana, Papa, Leah, and Grandma.  Since Anna looooves Toy Story, we decided to use that as her birthday theme.  I purchased an invitation from this Etsy seller and printed it out on Shutterfly.  Her favorite character was Buzz Lightyear (recently replaced by Woody), and I was certain I could find some kind of girly Buzz Lightyear outfit on Etsy...and I did:

I tried to make her cake look like the wallpaper from Andy's room in the movie, using fondant lettering and stars.  I thought it was going to look awful when I first frosted the cake (blue icing is not very appetizing), but I loved it when it was done--I think it might be my favorite cake yet:

Leah gave me some camera tips--she took these photos and the one above (lest you think my photography skills rapidly improved):

After the cake, it was gift-opening time!  Unfortunately, Anna opened Nana and Papa's gift first--they gave her a Woody doll, and as soon as she saw it, she completely forgot about opening any other gifts.

So excited when Daddy released Woody from his packaging:

We somehow coaxed her to open the rest of her gifts.  Her next present was an adorable sundress (with purse!) from Aunt Missy--as usual, Anna was most excited about the shoes that came with it:

She also received a beautiful dress and cuddly Minnie Mouse from Aunt Cindy and Uncle Shawn:

We gave her a balance bike so she can follow Will around the neighborhood:

Will was a little grumpy during the present-opening (despite my multiple reminders all day that his birthday is only 6 weeks away)--luckily, Nana and Grandma brought him a few presents of his own.  Grandma brought him a fun wooden snake from her recent cruise:

After Anna finally opened all of her gifts (with lots of breaks to play with Woody), I talked everyone into posing for family photos, with varying degrees of success (the adults cooperated nicely, the kids--not so much):

We had a wonderful time celebrating Anna's first two years, and were so glad Nana, Papa, Miss Leah, and Grandma could join us!
