Eight Months Old

Anna-girl is another month older--eight months, wow!  In the past month, she has started pulling up on furniture and loves to hold on and bounce.  She will occasionally take one wobbly step to the side, but hasn't ventured beyond that.

She's managed to get herself in a few predicaments with all this moving.  I was on the computer one morning and she was playing on the floor beside me.  I heard a few muffled cries, and found her like this:

She's also managed to get stuck under the dining table a few times, and will wedge her head between the ottoman and chair until she is trapped and has to holler for help.

She loves to follow Will around and "play" with him (which usually entails tearing down his block towers and train tracks).  Will is not at all fond of her as a playmate, and yells, "Mama, get Anna! Take her away!" everytime she gets close to his toys.

The other night, Will was watching a movie on John's iPhone.  Anna heard the noise and was interested, so pulled up on the couch next to him to watch the movie.

Will's reaction is here:

I think we've got a lot of lessons on sharing in our future.

As for Little Miss Destruction, here she is at 8 months old:

Anna, at 8 months old:
  • Is sleeping from 7 pm until 5-6 am, with a 2 hour morning nap and a 1-1.5 hour afternoon nap.
  • Is laughing and yelling (loudly).  No babbling yet.
  • Is chewing on things but not much drooling and no teeth yet.
  • Is crawling well and pulling up on furniture.
  • Loves to play with Will's train tracks, the remote control, cell phones, and our shoes.
  • Is pacifier addicted!!  I need to start weaning that thing from her, but am not ready to give up the sleep it provides. :-)
  • Is eating fruit with cereal in the morning, and 2 jars of baby food at dinner, occasionally another jar at lunch, and still nursing 5-6 times daily.  She has just started eating well in the last 1-2 weeks (she is a much more easily distracted eater than Will was--takes FOREVER to feed her), so hopefully we can get her on a 3-meal schedule.
  • Is showing some stranger anxiety--she will still separate fairly easily, but I think we may have more trouble soon.  We just started leaving her in the church nursery, and she does pretty well (once we're out of sight).

I saw your comment on Big Mama's site and had to comment. We also decorated our Christmas tree while listening to the Oakridge Boys Christmas CD. The neat thing though was that the very next day we went and saw them in concert at their Christmas show. It was wonderful!
