Outdoor fun

I enrolled Will in a sports skills class this summer at the Little Gym.  My main motivation was to find an air-conditioned energy-burning activity for him, but I also wanted to see how well he followed directions in a group sports setting.  He is just now old enough to play some of the youth sports in town, but John and I suspected he might do better if we waited another year--and our suspicions were right.  Will was far more interested in running around the gym than working on his tennis swing or soccer kicks.

His coordination is getting better, though, and he has a lot of fun swinging at a softball thrown by John, or batting it off our neighbor's T-ball tee.  I took a few pictures of him practicing his swing with Daddy a few weeks ago:

Did he strike out?  You'll have to watch:

Little Sister was there, too--I think she was running the bases:

Not loving the grass.

After Will tired of softball, we took a bicycle/walk/red car ride around the neighborhood.

New homes are being built all over the neighborhood.  This is a picture of Will telling us that the construction sign says that if you go inside the house, the police will take you to jail.  I think that's what Miss Leah told him to keep him from going inside and stepping on a rusty nail.  :-)

Now, to change the subject, I think this is my fifth post of the week!  Five posts in five days, that might be a personal record.  Things will probably be slow around here again for the next few weeks (I'm working 2 weekends straight and almost full-time for the next 2 weeks), but I promise it won't be another 3 months before the next post. :-)

Have a good weekend!  And Happy Early Birthday to Daddy/John!!!
