Scooting along

Anna is really, really close to crawling. She's figured out how to get up on all fours--once she can get her hands and knees working together, she'll be on the move. She can already scoot forward on her belly, which has sparked a little sibling rivalry.

(PS...Will has no pants on because he threw a tantrum about putting them back on after going to the bathroom. I just want him to know this is his own fault when he's wondering why he's half-naked in all these pics years from now.)

Will and Anna had their first real fight today when I opened a box of baby toys from Will's first year. They are beneath his ability level, but had the attraction of new toys since he hadn't seen them in almost 2 years. He and Anna were both enthralled with the shape-sorter:

Poor Anna. She will work so hard to move forward 6 inches toward a toy--only to have the toy snatched away from her at the last second:

Prior to the pictures above, I had no idea that she could move forward. Will and I discovered this when I left her playing on the floor while I fixed his lunch. I knew she could scoot backwards, but I thought Will's crayons (about 6 feet in front of her) were safe.

They were safe...except for the orange one. :-)

Thank goodness for non-toxic Crayolas.
