Prayer Request

It's funny how you can start following a stranger's blog for awhile and then totally feel like you know the person. I have a few blogs that I check regularly--people I know of course (Lea, Courtney, Susan), and a few others that I like for one reason or another. For the past few months, I've been following the blog of Kelly, a girl in Arkansas who is (was!) expecting her first baby--I liked her blog for several reasons: she's Christian (and, having dealt with fertility issues, blogs a lot about what a blessing this pregnancy is), likes SEC football (Arkansas, though, unfortunately), and she posts recipes that rival Paula Deen's in butter content. She also is expecting a baby girl, which I of course am totally consumed with the same thing right now and have been shamelessly stealing ideas for baby hair accessories from her blog.

Anyway, she went in for induction on Friday, with all the expectations for a healthy baby, and her baby was born with pneumonia and had to be flown to a hospital out of state with the possibility of needing ECMO. You can read the details here. So please include her, her baby, and her family in your prayers. I've helped take care of babies in similar situations who've done great (and of course, in our own family there's Jimmy), but can definitely sympathize with the fear they have right now, and, being close to our due date, can sympathize with the stress of having your delivery not turn out at all like you planned. So please pray for them!

And, on a more light-hearted (and not too fattening) note, check out her recipe for lemon chicken while you're over there. It's easy and we love it!

More posts to come...I'm still trying to catch up with old photos and videos (the Appliance Direct one is next, Missy, so I'll explain later).

I've been reading her story too! Just found it through another blog I read (www.audreycaroline.blogspot.com), which I too love. I pray Harper comes out of this. Do they think she caught an infection during childbirth? I can't figure it out.

In one of her posts, she says that Harper has viral pneumonia, which would be less common (I thought it would be bacterial pneumonia, like GBS)--although sometimes things definitely get twisted around when they make it from doctor to family to friends, etc. I was getting a little worried when she posted she was still on 100% oxygen a few days ago, but it sounds like she took the turn for healing in the last few days, which is great.

Oh, PS to Susan--I love Bring the Rain too!
