Career Day and a Very Important Haircut

I have a bunch of pictures from a few weeks ago, so I'm going to pile them all into this post.

First, Will's kindergarten class had "Career Day."  Each child had to decorate a poster about their chosen future career and dress up as if they were going to work.  Will chose to be an astronaut; of course, after I purchased the costume, he changed his mind and wanted to be a fireman.  I told him that would be fine, but  he'd have to be a fireman that wears an astronaut suit. :-)

There were a lot of aspiring astronauts in his class, enough to man a shuttle mission all by themselves.  Here he is with his buddy Micah in their matching outfits:

And the rest of the class:

The following weekend, we headed to Disney to check out all the Halloween decorations.  We stayed at the Port Orleans resort, our first visit there.  We stayed in the Riverside half of the resort--very pretty, but the mosquitos were fierce!  Next time, we'll either go in cold weather or pack some bug spray.

We went to Hollywood Studios, where Will and Anna got to meet Buzz and Woody.  Will had fun playing with all the Toy Story props while we waited in line:

Anna was totally starstruck and just stood there staring at them.  She wasn't scared, just awed.  We had a hard time getting her to leave after the picture!

The next morning, we went to the Magic Kingdom.  We stopped out front for some pictures with the fall landscaping...

...and then headed inside for a very important appointment.  About 4 years ago, we took Will to the barber shop on Main Street for his first haircut (when he was 19 months old).  Anna's little curly ends have been straggly and tangly, so I though it was time to get them evened up--so of course we had to take her to the Harmony Barber Shop, too.  I wasn't blogging at the time of Will's first haircut, but here are a few pictures:

Will was so good for his first haircut and didn't fuss one bit.  I thought we'd probably have our hands full with Anna, though.  I was glad we had to wait in line, because I thought it would give her some time to get used to the place.  Will was happy to distract her with some playtime outside, too:

She was very nervous, but Will did a great job of calming her down.  Such a good big brother!

Pixie dust in the hair!  (But that's "pirate dust" in Will's hair...boys don't do pixie dust!)

Showing off her First Haircut ears:

Obviously, it's not a huge change--I do love her long hair.  I'm just praying she doesn't try to cut it herself, now that she's been introduced to the concept. :-)

So, cute Anna! Glad that it wasn't a drastic cut -- I love her long hair.
That is a pretty awesome astronaut costume, Will. Happy to see that the loss of the shuttle program hasn't dampened any astronaut dreams!

PS - I can't stop laughing at the picture of Will in "The Claw."
