Will is a preschool graduate!

Will finished out his preschool experience with his K4 program 2 weeks ago.  His teachers prepared an hour-long program during which the students recited the bible verses they had memorized, sang songs they learned throughout the year, and showed off their reading and language skills, too.  His whole class did such a great job!

The theme was "God Keeps His Promises":

Half the group, including one particularly cute face:

Will had a few parts in the program.  Here he is pretending to be a frog:

(Will says he's the second frog, but I'm pretty sure he's the third one.  Is it bad when you can't recognize your own kid???)

Will had a short speaking part, and I need to preface this video.  I am clearly under some kind of curse in the home video department.  I think it started during my senior year of high school, when I gave a speech at graduation but the only video evidence we have of that is about 30 seconds of video which abruptly cuts off.  I think that was a battery problem and by the time it was fixed, my speech was over; I wasn't too sad about that, though, because in my head the speech went well and I would hate to have that refuted by video.  The curse reared its ugly head again during our wedding.  We didn't hire an official videographer, but had a couple of people who had video cameras and I think both of them had camera issues--so unfortunately, we didn't end up with any footage of the ceremony.  I'm still sad about that.

Anyway, after that horribly shaky video I took of Will's Christmas program, I vowed to do a good job of taping this end-of-the-year program.  I bought a tripod, dusted off our old video camera and charged the battery.  I did a quick test-taping at home, which went well and the camera assured me it had 100 minutes of battery life.  Well, just as Will stepped up to do his little part, the battery DIED!  I quickly grabbed my regular camera and tried to video the rest of his part with it--it's a little blurry but better than nothing:

I think the battery is just shot, but I'm lobbying John for a new video camera.  Although I'm not sure that will solve all my video problems. :-(

Anyway, Will and his buddies did a great job and at the end were presented with their Preschool Graduation Certificate and a Bible.

Look out Kindergarten, here he comes! :-)

Congrats, Will! I thought he was the second frog to get chomped? Those costumes are so cute -- do they do the same program every year?
