In Preparation

No pictures here, just links to Advent ideas.  Will is old enough that I want to reinforce the Christmas story with him (according to John, he was using our Little People nativity figures in a sword fight).  Plus he is definitely at the age where the Santa Clause part of Christmas starts to become really important, so I think we need to even things out a bit.

(In previous years, I've used this advent calendar with a Bible verse each day, but that was more for me than Will!)

This year, I found this advent calendar (on sale!) in the checkout lane at JoAnn Fabrics.  I'm excited about it--each day has a small storybook that can be hung as an ornament, and the story is written on a preschool/elementary school level.

Previously, I've used some activities from here, and we'll probably use some of these ideas again this year.

I don't know if this will prevent Will from staging a battle between the Mary and the wise men, but at least he'll know what really happened.
