Sitting pretty

Somehow, in the moves between North Carolina and our second (third) rental house, Will's high chair got super-disgusting. It wasn't a great highchair anyway--note to those of you shopping for one, be sure to get something with a machine-washable cover and no crevices. Will's had a "wipe-clean" cover (wiping is NOT enough to take care of everything that happened in that chair, unless you're wiping with bleach) and lots of crevices. Prior to packing it away, I took it outside, scrubbed it down, and used the hose on high power to spray all the little crumbs out. That was about 17 months and 3 houses ago--now it is just so yucky that I feel bad putting Anna in it, yet it was fairly pricey so it seemed wasteful to buy a new one.

Until we went to Ikea and I saw this baby for $19.99. Hoo boy--lightweight with no crevices or cushions. It's a thing of beauty.

Anna loves it--she isn't on solid food yet, but she sits in it and watches me cook. And she loves being at table height for our meals. Here she is making faces at John during lunch today:

"Hey, Daddy, how 'bout one of those pretzels?"

"Just a little one--this milk-only diet is getting old."

"What do you mean, Mama says no pretzels for babies?"

"Quick, before she notices!! Hurry!!"

"Oops. You saw that?"

"Hey, Will, what you got over there?"

"Peanut butter and jelly? Awesome, I'll take a bite."

"What can I say? I'm a growing girl!"

Great pics but I really like the last one...such a sweet face!

I don't like cushions or crevices on highchairs either...just more room for disgusting!

Your new blog layout looks great!
