Hi y'all! Anna here, taking over the blog --Mama's relaxing after unpacking zillions of boxes, but the new place is starting to look like home. I adapted to my new room very well (everything looks the same when you're only 2 feet tall and stuck in a crib at night), and Will looves his new digs, too. He slept the entire night in his own bed for the first time in several weeks, so the parentals are happy about that.

Did I mention how happy I am that I'm too little to help out with all this moving?

The new house is a lot roomier--Mama is excited about the kitchen (island and double ovens!). I see lots of baked goods in our future. She was not so excited about some of the treasures the previous owners left in our drawers and cabinets:
  • Partially used eyeliner
  • Slivers of soap
  • Can opener (missing the power cord and crusted with old food)
  • Pet hair
  • Large tin cooking pots (Mama was initially excited about these, until she saw how rusted and yucky they were on the inside)

I'm sure those other people thought we would put this stuff to good use, but Mama didn't think so and spent half the day pouring 409 and bleach spray all over the house and muttering something about people not being good citizens.

Will and Daddy tried out the new playground last night and think it's a good substitute for the old one. We haven't tried the new pool, but that's on the agenda today or tomorrow.

That's all the news I have for now--y'all have a good weekend!

Love,

Anna

Her smiles are so big, I almost can't stand it!! Can't wait to meet her. (And I'm super jealous of your kitchen...)

Hi, Angie! This is embarrassing but...do I know you? You look VERY familiar and I'm trying to place you if I even should know you. :)I noticed that you live in Florida. Would you mind telling me where? We live in Florida, too.

OK...to answer your applique question...Yes, I do use a backing when doing applique. You need to get Heat'n Bond Iron-on Adhesive in order to avoid the bunching you mentioned. Let me know if you have any other questions. Applique is SO much fun!
